If you're contemplating making an application to join, have an application pending, or have a date to start training, I'd suggest you take your personal security and that of your loved ones, further than has been suggested here. No one has a 'need to know' what you're doing, except your immediate family, as they will need to exercise caution relating to your (proposed) occupation. The less people you tell and the better general precautions you take, the safer you'll be.
