    Hi,

I recently purchased an Asus UL30A laptop a couple of weeks ago but a problem is after cropping up, basically it keeps randomly shutting down on me, displaying the 'blue screen of death' for a split second (not long enough to be able to read it mind you!)

I'm running windows 7 and don't appear to have any virus etc, it's not overheating either. It could shut down while I'm surfing the web, watching a movie or using itunes - it makes this brrrring noise and then restarts.

Anyone know how I can figure out what's wrong? I can't rollback to a previous state either as Tuneup Utilities has deleted all previous backups on me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers folks :)

Backup any data you want to a USB stick or two if you want to be extra sure.

Restore it to it's original state and try it without installing any additional software.

If it still plays up return it.

If it runs fine add everything else back an application at a time testing in between to see which application is causing the problem.
