Extending garden + New Wall

    Hi All,

I am in the process of extending my rear garden as i have come to a deal with the person who owns the land behind my house.

As you can see in the first image, the RED area outlined is the new land.

The problem is that the dich is more forward than it should be, meaning i will need to put the rear garden wall and foundation where there is now a ditch as you can see in the picture (I have drawn a red line where the rear wall will be).

I have a brick layer who is a friend of mine to lay the bricks (cavity) but want to do most of the work myself and although i have no experience im hoping it will be straight forward enough, i am unsure about the foundations seen as they will be in what was a wet ditch, is this going to be a big problem?

You will need to pipe all surface/storm water first before even thinking about a foundation.

can you not just build the wall in front of the ditch? it will save a lot of hassle.
