    Hi all,

have an interview with a medium sized firm in dub tomorrow, just wondering if anyone has any advice as i never fully know how to prepare for these apart from researching the firm as much as possible (its for position as trainee by the way). phone call arrived out of the blue last week and basically had a short phone interview on the spot over the phone, had nothing prepared but must have said something right since they called me back.

    cheers,

    k

You'll get some practices question on a few recruitment websites. If it's a trainee positon they might ask why you chose a career in law? Why should we hire you over other applicants? What value can you add to this firm, and just in case they ask...What are your strenghts and weaknesses?

Know some relevant cases that they have been inviolved in lately if that sort of info is on the website. Just be confident and likeable, if you've got this far they obviously think you are good enough for the role, its more a case now of seeing if they'd like to work with you for 3 years to a degree.

If its a commercial firm then try have something prepared/be knowledgeable about NAMA/Greek financial woes/our budget deficit etc

Do you mind me asking how you went about obtaining the interview, was it through a recruitment advertisement or did you just send off a random cv?:)
