Quick question, sorry if this has been asked before, search brought up nothing..

Those 2 episodes where Carrie decides to take an apartment in the City, then she and Doug decide to finally adopt a baby, then they fall out because Carrie won't let go of her new apartment etc.. Are these the final episodes ever made??

Is it just me or was the story line very rushed? It's almost like they ran out of story lines and just threw something together to wrap it up.. Kinda disappointing tbh..

You probably already know this but he's Ben Stillers Dad :D Ben actually made an appearance in one episode and played a young version of Arthur :)

i always liked it, never seen the episodes towards the end though, read that they adopted a baby and Carrie also got pregnant.

In the last 2 episodes of the show it looked as though their marriage was ending, as Doug didn't think Carrie would take a leap of faith with him, as she kept her apartment in the city. Then they found out about a baby in China that they could adopt and flew out to get the baby. While in China Carrie discovered she was pregnant herself, and they still adopted the baby. Meanwhile, Arthur got married and moved out.

Then the last ever scene was set a year later, Doug and Carrie were being driven crazy by their crying baby and adopted child, as Arthur arrived through the front door announcing his marriage was over. End of show.

Brilliant show, always good for a laugh!

Ah, see I've never saw the ones where they go to China or find out she's preggers.. I actually thought they broke up in the end.. I must keep an eye out for those episodes.. I think Comedy Central are airing the ones where she got the apartment at the moment so I guess they're coming up soon :D

    Cheers

He actually played Arthur's father, in a reversal of their real life relationship.

Another +1 for KoQ too :)

yeah another big fan here. Was kept on for far too many series though. The childish relationship between Doug and Arthur made the show.

I used to like the show. I must've seen all episodes twice because of Comedy Central. Every time I see it on now, I have to change channel.

It'd be great if Comedy Central got some new programmes. They play it so often, you're likely to find the finale followed directly by the pilot because of their back to back scheduling. Watching Kevin James lose so much weight, and about 10 years, in five minutes is really weird.

Arthur makes this show. Love the one where he pretends to be Spence's father.

"Look at yourself, you're 34 years old and you're going nowhere! YOU WORK UNDERGROUND LIKE A FERRET!"

Yea. Crap ending but one of the greatest shows of all time. Could watch a million repeats and still laugh my head off. It's all in the delivery.

Arthur Spooner is a legend. I try to emulate him on a daily basis. Lots of shouting of rants.

Why did she get an apartment?

when they first got married and looking for a place to live, carrie wanted to live in manhattan but the apartment she wanted had a waiting list of a few years so they went with the house in queens but then 10 years later the apartment became available

Yeah same with Leah Remini, her appearance changes so dramatically during the show, when it's condensed into 2 episodes a day it's quite bizzare..

haha can just imagine him saying it. one of the best characters EVER!!

remember an episode think carrie had her head shaved and she was looking in the fridge. Arthur comes up from the basement she takes her head out of the fridge and turns around then he shouts "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU"...very funny if i remember it correctly.:D

Wow, that is some absurd statement. I am surprised it lasted that long, couldn't see the appeal of an overweight delivery driver attempting to be funny, would make you feel uncomfortable just watching a few minutes of it (sends shivers down my back when I think of it)

Come on, do you consider Mall Cop to be one of the greatest films of all time too:rolleyes:

More great quotes from the series

Arthur Spooner: Ah, Paris. I haven't been back there since we liberated her in '44. The City Of Lights knew peace once more. I also got the clap, but that's a another story for another time.

Carrie Spooner Heffernan: Don't you bring my father into this!
Doug Heffernan: He's out of his mind! He cancelled our cable, because the cable company wouldn't pay him each time they ran the movie "Arthur"!

Carrie Spooner Heffernan: Dad, why have you been hanging around that school playground?
    Arthur Spooner: Business.
Carrie Spooner Heffernan: Not selling those dumb ribbons, I hope.
Arthur Spooner: Let's just say kids will be running home to their mommies to tell them about their encounter with the Ribbon Man.

    :D

I hated Mall Cop, but Leah Remini and Kevin James just have a great on screen chemistry, I think that's what made it so great.. She is hillarious in her own right.. It took me a while to warm to it but once I actually sat down and watched a few episodes, I was hooked...

Could say the same about an overweight factory worker but The Simpsons is one of the most popular TV shows of all time and has been on for over 20 years.

Simpsons stopped been funny over 10 years ago, anyway unlike the Simpsons it relies on a laughter track to tell people when to laugh which is like most other sub-standard american comedies, still better than the Irish ones though.

As US sitcoms go I'd rank it one of the most likeable.

Speaking of Arthur, his scenes with Deacon were great. Like the one where he feels he needs to pay him reparations...

    Same here.
Kevin James can be a very funny guy.
    The plots are always interesting.
Nicole Sullivan (Arthur's carer) is an underestimated (and cute) comic actress as well btw.

I presume you do all realise that Arthur is a poor enough copy of Jerry Stiller's portrayal of Frank Costanza in Seinfeld?

King of Queens is decent though and Arthur Spooner is funny but nowhere near as Classic as Frank Costanza.

I always seem to see the same episodes of King of Queens every time I switch it on but it is great pick me up television when you are bored. Always puts a smile on your face.
