If they keep torturing her for the remaining 5 hours it might make up for the torture that her storyline inflicted on the viewers for the first third of the season.
Actually, it probably still wouldn't make up for it.

    Was a bit 'meh' unfortunately.

Have a feeling it's the calm before the storm though.

I'm enjoying it but does anyone else think it's a bit out of character the way President Taylor is acting?

Fair enough its a massive decision and Logen is a horribly persuasive bástard but from the woman who sent her daughter to jail, husband away and decided against handing over hassan.. just seems a bit out for her.

Shes been seriously corrupted by Logen

not too impressed. a bit like moving chess pieces into position. filler episode for jack to recruit a helper and maybe Ethan will have another role to play.

some waterboarding to start Dana up..
and jack can continue the torture with some of the other implements...

It's totally out of character. I said this last week. In the space of an hour Logan has managed to turn Taylor into Dick Cheney. They may as well engineered some way of making Logan president, would be about as likely to happen as Taylors 180 about face.

This season mirrors season 2 a lot. First 16 hours is about trying to stop nuclear bomb getting detonated. Last 8 hours Jack fights against the government.

No mention of Michael Madsen appearing in a guest starring role as Jim Ricker? I thought he was ... ok... he'll be fleshed out over the next few eps I'm sure.

Still a bit of a filler episode this week, but not bad all the same. Not crazy about the route Taylor is taking and would like to believe that her inherent goodness will win out...

could have done with a cliffhanger at the end. The end pretty much sucked thought decent episode early on.

As for taylor. It is out of character but the bit with ethan and the family/husband splitting was possibly an explanation

..I need a couple of mp5's, an assortment of assault rifles and some body armour...

You'd better believe it's the calm before the storm!

Definitely a filler episode. Only 4 weeks left, so things are definitely gonna start coming to a head.

Taylor is really grinding me at the stage. As has been said, her behaviour is just not believable, and completely against anything pre-2 hours ago. The words "Peace Deal" are really starting to píss me off too, it seems like she mentions it at least 3 times each time she's on screen. I love Logan, but how in the name of God he's suddenly become so influential, and how Taylor is completely oblivious to his game is a bit braindead.

I'm waiting for Aaron Pierce to show up to help out against Logan. He's gotta be in it, one of my favorite 24 characters.

I dont think we'll be seeing Aaron Pierce this season caus' the writers might want Jack to be the only character in every season

Yeah pretty good, set up for an explosive ending.

At least we'll get to see Dana in a wet t-shirt....:pac:

I don't know, I have that gut feeling, and I'm sure the producers are aware of his immense popularity. Plus, he's the perfect Anti-Logan.

Also isn't he the only character (besides Jack) to feature in all seasons of 24?

People always talk about Jack not sleeping, eating, taking a whizz etc.

But kudos to the man, he sure can remember a hell of a lot of phone numbers!:)

More West Wing than 24 in recent weeks with all the Presidential confrontations going on. Dramatic though, displaying verbal dexterity and maintaining tension. Very well played scenes.

Good on Jack not being caught out by the CTU sting.
You can beat Dana but you can't beat Jack!

If someone else had bought a couple of phones in a shop, someone at CTU would have known in a nano second.
Wonder if Jack had enough on him for the purchases? Or used an ATM machine? Or paid by credit card?

Well it seemed like he bought them off a market trader, so they wouldn't have been flagged, as assumedly the trader would have got them previously.

Am I the only one who felt that Jack knowing Chloe was setting up was a complete joke?

How many phone calls have they had over the years where he needs something from her ans she expresses concern before eventually agreeing?

    Thought that was poor.

Yeah it was a bit odd alright. She didn't give anything away on the phone to suggest she was setting Jack up, so how he knew is beyond me, he clearly has some super intuition.

Because she objected his actions at the start

its different stakes now with her being acting head of CTU, and Jack knows what that position was like

Hey, if that was enough for you then fair enough! Shes been in positions of power in CTU before though and always helped Jack.

Glad we aren't the only ones who thought ti was weak!

    From IGN

"What was interesting in the episode was how Chloe reacted to Jack going rouge, ahem, rogue again (sorry, in-joke for those who saw my original, un-corrected spelling last week). We're so used to seeing Chloe help Jack, no matter what, that her decision to call Cole and tell him what Jack was attempting was a big moment. It meant something that Chloe was leading Jack into a trap and I was curious to see how it played out…

…only for Jack to completely realize it was a trap. His explanation? "I know Chloe." Huh? That's it? But the thing is, Chloe always breaks the rules to help you, Jack! Knowing her should have meant he would trust her, and be genuinely surprised by her leading him astray. It would have been one thing if there was a moment where we saw Jack notice something off in Chloe's story, but we didn't – so it's basically a case of Jack being
that good and all-knowing, which… okay. But it kind of feels lazy"

Chloe always objects at the start to what Jack is doing but eventually gives in. It was far too unbelievable that Jack suddenly knew what Chloe was doing, it would have made more sense for him to have somehow spotted Cole or distanced-microphoned him and listened in, but to suddenly attain some superhuman intuition was a bit far fetched.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,683 ✭✭✭DeepBlue

Jack - "I need you Cole, I can't do it alone".

    That was so far-fetched.
If I've learned anything from 8 seasons of 24 it's that of course Jack can do it on his own. :pac:

Why is Taylor listening to Logan, not Ethan? The guy who got impeached over the guy who has stuck by her after a heart attack?! Unlikely!

I assume we'll see more of Michael Madsen before the season is over, wonder what sort of part he'll play?
