Right so I sold an item on ebay for 70€ and the selller that won it has over 400 feedback, and its 100% if I recall correctly. Only thing is another acocunt with 17 feedback 100% emailed me saying he wants to send it to another address. He paid me and in the shipping address it says unconfirmed.

Should I send to it still even though its unconfirmed or am I convered by paypal protection?

Personally, I'd rather only send it to his registered Paypal address.

I think no. It will magically not show up and they'll start a dispute with Paypal saying you didn't deliver and want their money back..

Yeah I was a bit unsure if I should do it. What should I do now? Ive emailed him saying I wont ship it to unconfirmed address but he seems to be avoiding the question. What should I do now? Can I refund him the money minus paypal fees or what?

    i won't ship it myself !
I'll wait 10 days and then you can open a case with ebay OR if he's genuine he will open a case of "paid and not received" and at that moment you can prove your point. In any case, hold off on the money ! :)

I did few times similar requests for the sellers in UK (not delivering in Ireland) but i always contacted first and explained the issue, they seemed not bothered and accepted my bids with an account registered in ebay.co.uk !

OP I think you've already got the idea that DO NOTHING is probably the best approach, but can you explain the two buyers ID's. If one person won the auction then how and why would anyone consider selling to another?

One person one the auction that person should be paying for the item and then you ship to their registered PayPal address.

Just wondering what the feedback history of these 2 ID's is? Any chance that either have not been used in a while or not have been used to buy items like you are selling?

That is what I am wondering too, this guy seems to have just sent you money, I am wondering how they have any comeback as they did not win the auction. It would be like me randomly picking some auction that went for a good price and sending the seller money saying I want it! or am I missing something?

I would email the original winner asking questions, and send nothing at the minute.

Post links to the winning auction and the other guy's name/link too. We might be able to spot anything fishy.

The person who won the item, like the highest bid was this: http://myworld.ebay.ie/zigzag888cat/

And the person who started emailing me after auction ending and wanting me to send the item to another address was: http://myworld.ebay.ie/charliebassford65?ssPageName=ADME:X:CEM:IE:1181

The item I sold was a mass effect 2 game. Just wondering here, in an email I got about the payment through paypal it says:
You received a payment of 61.50 EUR from zigzag888cat

Thanks for using PayPal. You can now ship any items. To qualify for seller protection, please ensure that you only ship to the address listed below. To see all the transaction details, log in to your PayPal account.

It may take a few moments for this transaction to appear in your account.

It says there that im eligible but is that not for them saying like the item didnt show up?

Also on the paypal transaction page it says:

    Ship to this address:

Should I still not ship to it or what? Its all a bit confusing. The last email I got off "charliebassford" was: just send it to the original address please. The person that won he is my uncle I asked him to get it for me I was only asking because it would save time sending to him rather than me, now i realise i can't do that im sorry for asking. Please just send it to original address and forget I ever said anything payment should of come through now.

    Thank you.

But the message he sent before this was:
Sry again for messing you about I'm fairly new to ebay, i asked to win the Ebay item for me because im no good at bidding.
    Thanks.

This was after me telling him that I dont really want to send it an unconfirmed address as its a bit risky and all that.

    Thanks for the help guys

    I'd still say do nothing.

You haven't yet had payment from the original buyer so don't ship. The winning bidder can't even open a dispute if he hasn't paid.

I'd also check you have the money in your PayPal account.

If you believe the stories (I'm not convinced yet) then still wait till you get the payment from the original winner of the auction untill you ship. I wouldn't be that fast to do a refund to the person that has paid you. Even if its all true it shows a total disregard for the way eBay and PayPal works that might also extend to a total disregard for normal rules (like paying for things) in general.

Payment has been received from the auction winner, zigzag888cat, right? If you received an address in the payment email, that is confirmed by Paypal, then you can ship it to him.

Looks like one guy bid on behalf of the other, but the other doesn't realise how eBay works. Just send to the original winner, and let them sort it out among themselves.

Make sure to send by registered post.

Sorry my mistake I thought a different person to the one that won paid for the item.

So ignore the "extra" person in the senario and ship to the person that bid won and paid.

I'd also confirm that you were paid by logging into PayPal just in case.

Yeah payment was received by zigzag888cat, I just logged into paypal.ie there and its there.

It says this on my paypal page info though:

Payment From: B*** r C*** (The sender of this payment is Non-U.S. - Verified)

    Buyer's ID:
    zigzag888cat
    Payment Type:
    Instant
I might email the person and ask for an extra few euro to be sent through paypal to me get registered post as it will cost about an extra fiver for it as its a big enough package.

Just so im clear though, am I eligbile for cover by paypal if he tries to scam me am I as it says in my post above or does that mean something different? I will ship to the address in the paypal transaction page then, not to any other one.

What country? Charlie Bassford sounds like a contived name. Only two hits for Ireland, both e-bay. In other worsd this "Charlie Bassford" doesn't seem to exist in Ireland. http://www.google.ie/#hl=en&q=%22charlie+bassford%22&meta=cr%3DcountryIE&aq=&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=ba2217c259b88110

New to e-bay with 17 feedback?

Only send it if you have received the money from the original person. Otherwise it probably becomes an "accidental payment to the wrong seller".

Only send it to the confirmed address.

Don't talk to the non-winner anymore.

If you suspect something is dodgy re paypal payments you can forward the case to them - spoof at paypal.com IIRC - very fast to get back, automated response though.

I don't think you'll be able to charge extra now for registered post. It's something that should've been put in the postage costs at the start of auction.

Anyway, other than that, it seems to be cleared up, with regards who the other person was. So, as said, just send it to the Paypal buyer.
