Hi guys, I bought an MTB in Cork City from a bike shop about 3 weeks ago. The bike is going well, however one of the pedals is after cracking today. Its a plastic platform style pedal. I weigh about 100kgs. Is this covered under warranty?

Yes it is. Everything up to twelve months usually. Check the warranty card or the receipt.

Thanks, I was just thinking that I might have been over its rated weight tolerance.

Well they sold you the bike and would have seen you so its their problem if they sold you a product not fit for purpose... consumer rights and all that.

BTW They might try and fob you off with the "ah shure their just the standard pedals, they always break, you need to buy X or Y pedal now". That's BS, you paid for a full working bike.

Pedals dont just crack......They crack because they usually get a knock, either by yourself or when your away from the bike. Do you really weigh 100kgs?? (not being rude or anything just dont hear that often!)

Well I'm actually slightly over 100kgs, however I'm 6ft3 so I'm not much above my ideal BMI. I'm aiming to get back to 95, thats a weight I've always felt comfortable at.

I brought the bike back and its being done under warranty, thanks guys.
