I apologise if this has been covered before ( I'm sure it has on numerous occasions) but need to get 4 new run flat tyres and was wondering which is the cheapest option

Generally cheap and tyres don't go well together. Especially run flats.

Got quotes between €350-€450 per tyre on RF's. They are not cheap thats for sure

Try online at www.camskill.co.uk. Allow about €60 for fitting, then compare those prices to local tyre centre prices.

the GF got quoted €230 by Fast Fit in Omni Shopping Centre last month when she had a slow puncture for one 225 40 R18 Bridgestone RFT supplied, balanced and fitted, so i'd imagine you would get a bit of discount for buying 4 tyres and getting them fitted.

turns out she was able to get it plugged for 10e.

Have a look here, they are in NI.

You will get it a bit cheaper than the fitted price.

I was in California last week, and we got a puncture in our rental car. Went to a local tyre shop and they fixed it free of charge! After speaking to a few locals, I was told that "Free Puncture repair" is a common thing in the US!

I presume you are not aware that the manufacturers specifically say that run flats should not be repaired and also that plugging is VERY dagerous for road tyres capable of high speed.

If a tyre is to be repaired it should be removed and patched properly.

^ Pfff, they probably say that so you'll buy more of their tyres.

tyre was removed, sanded, patched and sanded again from the inside!
i still call it plugging through habit!

not ver dangerous imo, the small nail was in between threads and the slow puncture was really slow, ie. took a week to deflate.

No, you pay UK VAT; VAT paid within the EU means you can't be charged again.
I ordered 2 tyres from Camskill last Monday at 3:30 pm; delivered Wednesday morning 9:30. Excellent service and price.

It is printed on the sidewall of every run flat by the tyre manufacturer, nothing to do with the kwik fit/advance or whoever.

While I agree its not likely to cause any issues and that run flats are a money racket in general. The manufacturers have specified that they should never be repaired so any outlets who does repair them is leaving themselves open to serious repercussions if something were to happen.

You do know that the tire manufacturer also benefit from more sales :pac:

They obviously do which is why I said run flats are a money racket but most people assume its the tyre centers that are trying to rip them off when they are told they can't be repaired.
