just wondering how long to charge the batteries for, my friend recently bought a AEG and he was told that 1hr 30 mins would be sufficient enough, now im not sure if he has a rapidchare charger or that but i was told to charge mine for about 8 hours.

i currently have a dboys battery pack (7cell) one of the long ones for the AK series and also an 'intellect' 8 cell battery pack. anyone have any idea of how long i should give these for a full charge?

get a smart charger, will charge the battery fully and then trickle charge after that to prevent overcharging and damage to the cells

1hr 30mins isnt enough using a regular charger and i think 8 hours is too much

Im not sure of the URL, and if I find it I'll give it to you (its floating around ina thread in this forum), that lets you put in the details of your battery and it calculates how long to charge it for.

yea cool man that would be very useful, might have an auld gander around for it!! 8 hours does seem too long to charge any battery by any standards but as i ordered it from asia and it came with no instsructions

    +1 on Daz's advice.
Smart charger = genius for those of us (me) who can't be arsed or who are incapable (me) of calculating the recharge time needed. Follow the nice and easy lights on the smart charger and bob's your mother's brother.

Eirsoft have the intelligent chargers in stock as far as I know. They're simple as hell - plug the battery in, it'll then charge it for as long as it needs to be fully charged and (as Daz said) switch to trickle charge to keep the battery at it's full charge until you disconnect it and use it. Also it'll discharge your batteries as well - it's always advisable to do this with non-lipo batteries (and lipos really need their own chargers and balancers anyway). I've been using an intelligent charger for ages and there's no comparison to the crappy chargers that come with the aegs...
