Well done op:). My friend and I when we were kids used to spend hours looking for these, one hot summer day, while I sat on the edge of the footpath starting into the grass, she stood on my hand:(, thought it was an orange skin and squashed it into the footpath..very sore it was.

I remember in my other hand I head a peppermint paté (no one in the northern hemisphere remembers these, they were disc shaped dark choc filled with mint fondant..the wrapper was purpley blue and silver)..After getting over the pain in my hand I actually found one, she went for a picnic with our other friends but I declined. A gang of bold boys beat her up. I believe it was my clover that saved me that day:o.

I used to think they were extremely rare until a girl I know claimed she had 8 of them. Of course I called shenanigans until she proudly proved me wrong.
The b*tch finds them quite often. I have no idea how either. I'd never seen a four leafed clover in my life so to see 8 being waved in front of my face was a bit surreal...
