can any one recoomend a good unit / pedal ( analog only )

that can push my mesa boggie f-50 clean channell into a nice crunch chimy sound

( note im running the mesa on el 84 tubes instead of 6l6 - to bring the volume down )

its a lot chimier on these tubes , but id like to be able to push it into a fuller overdrive ,
using a foot switch / pedal and maybe adjust the mid freqs going into it
some kind of analog eq/ booster i reckon.

i dont want to use the overdirve chan on the amp - as i use it for one sound idont want to change

Id like to fine tune the clean chanell overdrive into something a little crunchier but fuller basically.

or would i be better of trying a different speaker than the mesa black shadow

Ibanez TS9 Keeley Modded jobby, will give you 8 different variations truly the best pedal I ever bought....and main thing is you dont lose the tone of the guitar.

Not the normal TS9 that wont give you what ya want it has to be the keeley.

very subtle to a nice drive I really cant praise it enough :D

Dave from Stand runs www.purepedals.com stocks some Keeley stuff as well as some other nice boutique pedals. Nice fella to deal with too.

It is slightly dearer I grant ya, but only slightly. To buy a Keeley moded TS808 direct from Keeley is $279 (which is roughly €210), add in your VAT and import duties and it is around about the same to buy locally (€279).

40 lids will get you a Boss SD1. It could be considered the poor man's Tube Screamer. I have both, use both. Pete Cornish it aint but it gets the job done. Depending on what you're after, a decent EQ can work wonders, especially if used in conjunction with even an average OD.
