Will an itunes voucher bypass my credit card?

my cc is linked to my itunes account, but is currently maxed. i'm buying a tenner itunes voucher today but how do i tell itunes to use it rather than my cc? never used a voucher before. thanks.

iTunes will use prebought credit over the credit card provided there is enough credit to cover the purchase.

In the 'quick links' menu in the i-Tunes store, select 'redeem'

Enter your voucher code and the credit will be added to your account

You should be able to see your balance next to your name

So long as your purchases do not exceed the value of your credit, your CC will not be debited
