Can't delete corrupt folder

I've got a corrupt folder on one of my drives which I can't manage to delete

I've tried holding SHIFT and deleting, tried deleting it from safe mode but nothing worked :mad:

Any idea's?

MSG I get is: "Can not delete FOLDER: the directory is not empty"

There is probably a hidden folder or file within the corrupted folder.

Be sure you have file manager set to view hidden folders/file

Or you could check from an elevated CMD prompt.

There's 2 cad files in the folder but I can't even open the folder to delete them.

How do I go about deleting the folder with CMD prompt?

What operating system are you using.

Is it on a domain. IE Do you use it on a company network.

If so you may need the administrator to do it.

There is no real elevated CMD in XP Pro but it is restricted by user rights.

If you open a CMD prompt
Move to the directory you want by using

cd\(path to directory)

Dir /ah will list hidden files
If you want to unhide them use
attrib -s -h -r *.*

That will unhide all the files in that directory. Also will lchange them to non-system and non- readonly

Give it a go.

It's my own laptop and I should have admin priveleges, tried ot in safe mode loged in as admin and same result.

I can't cd to the directory.

E:\College\4th Year\Thesis -\Drawings\Blocks\I_BEAM is the directory, do I use %20 for spaces?

Can you do it on directory at a time. Dos usually give a shorter name for directories over 8 letters

Cd to the first
Then Dir to list the directory you want and check what DOS calls it.
then cd next directory and so on.

Meant to post up yesterday.

Was chatting to one of the IT guys here in college and he recommened running a chck disk as it sounded like the file table was corrupt.

Ran it anyway and the file(s) are there, uncorrupt and in full working order.
