i've recently heard three songs from this band on my brother's i-pod
Elepant Gun, Nantes and Scenic World. I enjoyed the european sound of the record and was shocked to find out the leader of the band was Amercian and only 19:eek:. i just wanted to know what album should i start with and anyone else a fan?

I'm a huge fan, Condon is an immensely talented dude. Gulag Orkestar, his first, is the easiest to get into, and it's my favourite just because I like the kinda gypsy style of it. The Flying Club Cup is sort of French flavoured, and I'm not quite as into the sound of it, but it's still gorgeous. Owen Pallett sings on one of the tracks. I have to confess, I haven't gotten around to listening to his most recent one.

The Lon Gisland EP is great as is Gulag Orkestar....Postcards from Italy is one of my all-time favourite songs - just beautiful.
