Beach + sightseeing holiday ideas?

    Hi folks,

    Myself and the Missus were considering a holiday to South America for the end of July and the start of Aug for 15 days or so. We were planning on going to Peru and Bolivia to see all the sights etc.
    So off we went into Trailfinders to find the prices to this trip was crazy due to the fact we have left it so late to book. (International and internal fligths were coming out at around 2k each!) So after that we would have to pay for tours, hotels and food which would be out of our budget.

    Basically we have decided South America is probably out so i was wondering if anyone had any destination ideas for us? We aren't too keen on just sitting on a beach for the whole time as we are both quite active and would like to be out and about doing things like sightseeing and tours etc. 3 or 4 days on the beach would be plenty and somewhere where it is nice and warm.

    great beach in cannes, plenty of sightseeing nearby like nice, eze, monaco, menton

    ryanair fly to nice airport
