    Hey All,

Sorry if this topic has been brought up before a quick search didnt result in what im looking for.

Our society is running an event soon and as we are hoping for large numbers we want to use the HD Camcorder as a live feed source at the event. The plan is that we have the camcorder setup on a tripod recording said event but that it would also be hooked up to a Sony Vaio Laptop and then we could hook that up to a projector behind the demonstration so larger numbers can see it.

Camcorder & Laptop both have HDMI Ports.

Just wondering is it as simple as it sounds or more involved? Do i need any specialised software or utilities?

    Many thanks for your responces.

Where do you want to stream it to?

Basically the laptop. Im not sure if streaming is the right word. I just want to play it back as a livefeed on the laptop so that when the laptop is hooked up to the projector you can view whats being currently recorded on the camcorder.

Can you not connect it directly to the Projector?

I hadnt thought of that. Good point haha.

So if i just setup the camera on a tripod and set it to record and then hook it up to the projector it should just show whats being recorded?

Thanks for the info, the only thing iv just realised is that the only connection on the projector is VGA. We have had the laptop hooked up via VGA with no problems.

So we would either need a HDMI > VGA Adaptor of go the route of:

Camcorder > HDMI Cable > Laptop > VGA > Projector

Would that be possible if we cant get the adaptor?

    €6.99 on ebay

TBH, it's much easier to just do it straight to the projector than through the laptop.
    Much less to go wrong
