PAYE REFUND ONLINE

Hey,

Just a quick one. My partner and i claimed our tax back last week on the same day. we both got our P21 balancing statements in our in box on Thursday morning. I received my refund into the bank on Saturday (dated Monday) but my partner has yet to receive his.... his was double the amount of refund to mine.

any ideas why ?

Theres a whole host of things which can slow it down. Were they both fully submitted online?

If you give them a call they will give you the status of the refund.

Did he give bank account details or is it to be refunded by cheque?
If the amount of the refund is very big it may need to be approved and that takes a number of days/weeks (depending on the amount of back log).
To move it along you are best to ring and ask. If they say it needs to be approved maybe just say to them that ye need this money really badly. They might give it priority and approve it a little bit quicker.

At the bottom of the p21 balancing statement it says refund been paid in bank account. its not a huge amount- mine was about €1000 his was near €3000. Maybe it will be in the bank tomorrow
