    Hi
I have been getting jobseeker's benefit for 7 months.
After having no luck finding employment, I have decided that I am going to try to set up a small business. I got information about the Back to Enterprise scheme but it says that I have to be getting jobseeker's benefit for at least two years. Is this rule strictly adhered to? I need help with starting this up and don't really know how to do it with no money coming in - until I get up and running anyhow.
    Thanks

It has been changed (to the best of my knowledge) to the following.

    1. If you are under 12 months unemployed you can get it and continue to get your JSB for the 9 or 12 months you are entitled to.

    2. Over 12 months you can apply and you get full JSA for 1 year then 50% for the 2nd year.

If you set up now you will get 5 more months then your on your own. If you set up after the 12 months you will have 2 years of an income. But i have heard its harder to get the 2nd option.
