    "******.net was suspended <SNIP>.

We are currently looking for new home."

 i won't say what site, or the URL, or what they hosted....but they finally got them, and it was a major site.

    So why bother posting?

I won't post a link to the site, but the lingo of "we don't host files on the server" is BS....they host links to other websites, it's no different really to actually hosting the actual files on their servers.

I'm amazed actually they were not shut down yonks ago, they hosted links to everything and alot of stuff not even out. But the nature of the net is new sites will pop up or existing less "visible" sites will get more popular.

I know the site, and they've been around for a long time.
They're looking for a new home (not in Germany)... they'll pop up again, I have no doubt about that.

Oh and its obvious one of the things they linked to was TV shows, or Richard wouldn't have his knickers in a twist. :)

The sites I use are still active so this mystery site means nothing to me.

Just put this quote into google, and I found the site. Had never heard of it before. Cheers....

I've used this site before and I'm somewhat glad they're gone.. while they're one of the fastest for releases, the ads on their sites was chockful of spyware and irritating!

And they were flagged by Google and Firefox as being a "suspected attack site!" this weekend.

I didn't get this either.. it's one thing that they could use the Rapidshare defence and say that these "files" were uploaded and posted by other users. In their site's case, they were in the comments.

But they also used to put up links to HotFile of the releases they were announcing in the OP.

They didn't host direct downloads on their server.. but they're directly responsible for what they put in their posts. Their comments are a different story!

    Eejits!

PS - Let's be very careful on how this discussion continues!

Aye, seems one of the ads had malware on it, and thus the site was listed as such.

Though it seems it was being attacked by someone a day or two before it went down :S

    =-=

It seems German law doesn't like this sort of thing. Some people may remember rapidshare.de having trouble last year (or the year before it?) .de and .com were split a shile before this happened.

I don't know if this is the site I just googled part of the first post and it came up with this site. I never heard of them. Here's the link <SNIP> as I'm not linking to anything just this page I presume its okay and solves the mystery for everyone.

    Delete link if not appropriate.

EDIT: There's a good chance they'll find a new hosting company.. and I'd rather we not link to them, albeit how easy it is to find given Richard's "cryptic" opening post!

OK, so this thread has succeeded in putting people onto a warez site they'd never heard of before today. Good job.

A couple of posts edited, thread closed.
