Over dependancy of stopping power?

    Hey everyone

Yesterday i started playing S&D and have really gotten into it. The only problem is UAVs are fairly common in it so i decided to experiment using Cold Blooded with assault rifles. Before this i used stopping power with every gun apart from the UMP which i used hardline.

I thought using Cold Blooded would be horrible since it would take ages to get the kill but with a silenced ACR i can take people out with little hassle. If i come 1v1 with someone then they will get the advantage but it's worth it. I started using it in other game modes aswell since i don't have to worry about air suppirt or UAVs.

I use to do the same with guns and would not try any apart from the Scar and the M16 so i forced myself to try every gun for a while and found some great ones like the UMP.

Anyone else do the same or use to do the same? I definately recommend mixing about your guns and perks.

    +1 for the UMP.
Great little gun, especially with the Silencer.

i use cold blooded in my assault class too, as well as a silenced scar and ninja... people just cant find you, its excellent...

i only use stopping power in my heavy class
mg4 + grip + stopping power + steady aim + slight of hand = DEATH

The UMP is the only weapon in the game that doesn't lose damage over range like all other weapons, or if it has a silencer attached. It's bugged like that, so Stopping Power definitely isn't needed with it.

Some weapons definitely don't need it. Take the SCAR-H for example. The reason it only has a 20 bullet magazine is for balance reasons since it'd do more damage than say the ACR or M4A1. Cold Blooded or Hardline are excellent perks to use with it. What I always aim for with the SCAR-H though is extended mags, You've got a full on rape machine with that attached!

Im only using stopping power at the moment to get through one of the challenges, the one in which you most get 1000 kills with stopping power.

I usually go for hardline or cold blooded. I normally only use stopping power with the .50 Cal and the AUG.

I was pretty close to getting extended mags with the Tar-21, the 40 bullet penetration kills with the FMJ attached was the only challenge I had left before I prestiged, do glass penetration kills count? or does it have to be like wood or a wall? And does having FMJ and Stopping Power increase either one or are they the equivalent of each other?

It does lose damage over range. True it only goes from 40 to 35, which is less of a drop than others, but it does still drop. And that 5 point drop means it's only a 49 damage per bullet with stopping power so a three shot kill.

Yes, glass kills count as penetration kills for extended mags challenge.

I've prestiged three times (since Sunday). Each time around I try to complete the full challenge for one Assault rifle. I've got the FAMAS, Scar and just this time I did the TAR. I had actually gotten the points to prestige, but was 6 FMJ kills short for the TAR Mastery Title, so hung on a while to get that. Highrise is the best for this due to all the windows in it. As long as your teammates don't break them all. :)

It's pretty easy to combat UAV in search, especially if you are playing with people you know.

Just look at the other teams scores after every round and if you see someone has gotten a 3 streak stay at the spawn for 5-10 seconds when the next round starts to see if the other team calls in a UAV. If they do you can take it down easily if 3-4 people on your team put a few bullets into it.

I'm usually the one who takes down the UAV on my team since I like to roll with the silenced AUG in S&D ;).

I like taking down the UAV's and radar scramblers, most people dont bother, depending on the map they're easy to spot, like on wasteland and afghan, stopping power pro is a godsend for this, can take one down with 2-3 burst of a Famas

I was doing this the other day in a game. After hitting it with about 3 bursts of my FAMAS, I went to reload when a certain boards regular took one more shot at it and nabbed my 50XP.

But yeah, I always have a look at the map and see if there is teammates around. If there are and can cover me, I'll normally try to take it out. On my last prestige I tended to run with a silencer a lot, and always tried to take it down with them.

I got a hilarious kill one night taking down a UAV, I just shot it down and had a few rounds left in a clip, turned to see a guy looking up and shot him right in the head, turns out he was looking at what I was shooting at instead of just killing me, it was in a FFA too so he had a laugh about it over the mic, its good when people are good sports about being killed :D

Yeah it really suited my gameplay of rushing the enemy and still kept me hidden under the radar. Its great for getting two or three kill sprays when you bump into a group of enemies together.

That was always a problem i had, i would get a kill or maybe two max and would need to reload. I needed to use scavenger instead of sleight of hand since its run out of ammo fairly quickly. Must try and get the extended mags and give it another go!

Never knew you could take a UAV down so easily with a gun so i always used my stinger haha

    Thanks for the tip!

I used to use SP with most guns, still do with my sniper rifle but with the rest it's either: Cold Blooded, Hardline or Lightweight

I always use stopping power when sniping too, hit markers can be frustrating enough even when its on!

It has a smaller magazine because irl, the SCAR-Heavy uses 7.62mm bullets. Therefore they use 20 round mags.

It could be that but the SCAR-H has 30 round mags as standard in the single player campaign.

Why can't you play without Marathon? Marathon is a good perk, but with Scavenger Pro, you get extra mags. Bling Pro, both weapons have two attachments, One Man Army is useless because of Scavenger, and Sleight of Hand is only really useful with LMGs. But there should be no reason why you can't play without Marathon lol you should try mixing it up and see how you get on

    My killstreak rewards are ..........pred/harrier/pavelow

I only need enough bullets to kill 5/6 people sometimes a couple more so I don't really need scavenger  . I can't stand the run/walk/run/walk  marathon saves my ass alot . Most importantly you can just run through claymores
