How to access journals outside college?

Just wondering how to access journal papers as in cell and nature outside college....know theres something you can type into the search bar but forget what it is? Would appreciate some help, :-)

Go to

on the colleges library website. Scroll down until you find "science direct". You may be prompted to enter your TCD username and password. Here you'll have access to thousands of scientific papers. There will be a search bar where you can type in your search criteria

If you know the URL of the article you're trying to view, then insert the phrase <.elib.tcd.ie> after the top-level domain, but before the subsequent slash.

For example, say the article you want to see is at http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v464/n7291/full/nature08932.html.

You would change that to http://www.nature.com.elib.tcd.ie/nature/journal/v464/n7291/full/nature08932.html

You'll be redirected to the Library login page; after entering your password and username you'll be able to access the journal.

Go to the Library homepage - www.tcd.ie/library

In the search window in the top left hand corner, click on the tab "Journal Titles".

Type the name of the journal that you're looking for in the search window - e.g. Nature and click "search"

In your list of results, click on the title with the words "electronic resource" after it - i.e. "Nature [electronic resource]"

Click on the link for the journal - you may be asked for your network Username and Password at this stage.

That's it.
