Are there any places to go dancing, preferably country western or swing dancing, but I'll take even ballroom, anywhere in or near Roscommon? So far, the only places I've found have been in Galway, and it's just too expensive these days for me to travel that far:( I've found a few social clubs, but the people have been in their 60s and 70s and all retired, and I'm not that far along yet...

Yep. There are loads around. Just look up the websites for the big country bands, Mike Denver, Jimmy, Buckley and so on, and see when they're in the region.

Once you get in on the scene, you'll be flying it. And you may meet people you can travel further with.

I'm looking for places that regularly hold dances, that are near me. No time to travel, it's tough enough to get out close to home:( And so far, I've never seen actual country western dancing here in Ireland, just people jiving to C/W. I was told it was popular here, but it only seems to be the music is popular, not the dancing:(
