Laser Hair Removal?

    Hi,

    I am a young (earlier 20's) I have a bit of an issue. it's getting a bit desperate at this stage.
    I hope this doesn't sound too disgusting but I'm having trouble commiting to a long term relationships because i have a hairy member.
    Now dont get me wrong, I have had sex with girls before, but this was because i knew It was going to happen so i cut, plucked and shaved my fella before it happend,
    however I'm now sick to death of spending so much time cutting and plucking, not to mention having suffered from ingrown hairs the odd time.
    I just fear, because i dont have all the time to keep it smooth that if i had a girlfriend she would eventually get grossed out.

    It's really begining to do my head in, i've become so self conscious about it that I hate even going taking a Number 1 in a public toilet because i have to touch it.
    I'm wondering is there any hair removal places that would accommodate for me needs?

    I've been tempted to locate a place online and ring them to see could they do it but i'm afraid that the offer would be rejected.
    If anyone knows a place that does specialize in this particular laser hair removal i'd be really happy, at this stage i'd shelf out bucket loads of cash to have it all cleared away.

    I'm not sure if it's possible, but if it is, have you tried waxing? Either at home by yourself or in a salon? If you wanted to try waxing at home, I'd try the veet warm wax (only once has someone used a cold wax strip on one of my legs and it really, really hurt, so I imagine it would hurt more on a penis (I'm female, so obviously don't have a penis!)

    Veet Warm Wax - I've never used this, so don't know if it's any good.

    Also, is this link any use (my grandmother is sitting behind me so I can't open any links on that page lol cos I don't know if there's pics or not!)

    Also, phone/email some salons/clinics that do laser hair removal and ask them if it's possible to have laser hair removal on a penis.

    Thanks for the advice, but waxing is definitely out of the picture, It'd be pretty awkward and I'm looking for a more permanent solution.

    I'll google and ask around in the mean time, thank you.

    Oh it is possible. I found a thread that you may find helpful. These people are in America so they can't help you find a place to get it done but they're discussing if it's painful, healing process and that kind of stuff. http://www.4laserhairremoval.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165&page=2

    I would suggest phoning some clinics to see if they will do this area. Try not to be embarassed, they are probably used to these sensitive questions. All you have to ask is "Do you have a price for the genital region?" You could try e-mailing the clinic, but they might not discuss prices via e-mail. They should be able to confirm whether they will do that particular area though.

    OP have you tried to discuss this with your doc?
    Look the reason I am asking is that your post comes across to me as someone who is freaked out by having hair there - I mean - not even wanting to touch yourself so you can pee is extreme; this screams to my untrained eye - phobia.

    Spending so much time plucking etc is not healthy - esp with the fallout of ingrown hairs. Have you tried just to keep it neat with a trim every few weeks - short hair but not so short as to become ingrown??? This will be a lot cheaper than laser not to mention fast and tidy... Added to that you can do this yourself in the shower with the right device - there are waterproof ones out there - but you are better off doing it dry - just be careful that it is not too short - otherwise you might nip yourself.
