Have you paid/or will you pay tax this year?

If you haven't paid tax then you can't claim tax back!

Shane732 is correct, If your not paying tax your cant claim it back (direct income tax that is, we all pay vat etc.)

However no need to put your Med 2 form in this year, you could wait until you are paying tax and submit it then. Ring the revenue and ask for some information of how long you can hold it.

If you have a wife or husband they can claim it for you.

You can claim up to 4 years later but i am not sure if you have to have paid tax in the year you paid for the treatment or can you pay for it now and claim next year in 2011 against tax you will pay then.

If you paid anything last year you can claim for that.

Ask Revenue, hope you can get a new job soon!

Hmmmm... You say a husband/wife can claim the tax back?

My parents will be contributing towards the cost of my braces for my birthday. Can they claim back tax if they paid for them in full?

if you are their tax dependent and they are paying for the treatment then yes they can.

Get a family member to "pay" for it and they can claim the tax relief on it.
