Sheet steel suppliers

I've phoned most of the local sheet steel suppliers from the golden pages for Cork inc Heitons and none stock 1mm steel sheet as they say its too slow moving and too easy to damage
interesting though that a few also said that there have been a lot of enquiries so there must be demand . .

I'm looking for a sheet of 1mm to practice welding and maybe make a battery tray and hopefully replace some rust patches all going well

Anyone know of a supplier in Munster preferably that I could get some from ?

Never heard of Miko's. Good to know they exist & not too far from Kerry. Is it 1mm steel for wing/sill or rear arch repiar?. Have used an old bonnet in the past but many years ago.

I have some 0.9mm strips you can have, they're 300mm wide and vary up to 2m long.

Only problem it they're powder coated and need a good going over with a flap wheel before they can be welded.

Try Amari. They mostly do sheet aluminium, but in recent years I think they branched ou to steel & other sheet metals.

For dublin, I heard Heiton Steel were good on the Naas Road just after the Red Cow.
But I never went there or buy anything but could be worst trying.

Not sure of the company name but there's a place in Baldoyle Industrial Estate dealing in sheet metal that might be worth calling.

There is a new crowd in Limerick-Shannon region - Shannon Industrial Metals Ltd.
They deliver for free in that region and could give you some good quote.
