In the case of equality at any stage of the Season, positions at that stage of the season shall be determined firstly by the number of wins achieved and then on the basis of match points differential. A Club with a larger number of wins shall be placed higher than a Club with the same number of league points but fewer wins.

That means Worcester are relegated as Sale currently have 3 more wins. They lost their basement battle with Leeds today.

Fair play to Leeds, they looked doomed for a long time.

What will happen to Neil Best now? Surely there is a clause in his contract where he can tear up the contract if Worcester were relegated this season?

Delighted for Leeds and their win, looked to be a hopeless cause but they've turned their season round. Stopped the revolving door syndrome they've been suffering from for the past few years, should actually get a few quid now that they've managed to survive a season.

Good to see them give the two fingers to the the IRFU aswell. The odds really were stacked against them, and theyve shown what spirit can do. Will need a lot of new signings next year tho, and Id be surprised if theres not some interest for Wentzel or Fourie depending on conracts.

Gavin Duffy spent a year there with Quins didn't he? And maybe Simon Keogh too?

Did them no harm in my opinion. Not ideal for Best I guess but he had to know the risks when he signed.

Gear and Latham are both still under contract with them but they both have already declared that they will be leaving at the end of the season.

I read somewhere that they will become a full member of Premier Rugby Ltd and receive around £1 million next season.

Thats pretty much on the money, no pun intended, and thats the craziness of the GP. You get promoted, have to survive among the big boys with what is essentially a championship squad and a championship budget for a season, and of course the reality is that most promoted teams head straight back down, unless a semi-established team spectacularly implodes like the warriors this year.

Totally ridiculous system, deeply unfair. I feel for the Worcester fans and club as there are a lot of really committed people working down there and all their work has literally just gone up in smoke. The inevitable squad exodus will now occur, receipts will be decimated, no european competition of any sort next year etc...a real, real shame.

Looking like Bristol will replace the warriors and I wouldn't take any bets on them lasting longer than a season unless relegation is dropped.

Really happy for Leeds, they've been exceptional in the latter half of the season and thoroughly deserve to stay up.

    ...and the exodus begins.

I'd expect the likes of Mullan, Walker and Grove to follow.

Not surprised tbh, they can use their Premier Rugby money to bring in better quality I suspect.

I think Luke Rooney signed for Worcester, he's hardly going to play Division One rugby.

Mike Ruddock resigns, apparently Dean Ryan is interested in the job.

Bloody hell, talk about a glutton for punishment, you'd think he'd have learned his lesson at Glaws. It also appears that two Worcester players and their respective fathers:eek: were involved in a punch up on the field after the game at Headingley. The RFU are investigating....

Andy Goode and Luke Rooney will honour their contracts and join Worcester next season.
