    Hi all,

I am thinking in investing in some summer make-up - something lighter than I currently wear everyday to give more a light narural look.

Currently I am wearing MAC studio scuplt foundation with a MAC bronzer. The colour is great but feels a little heavy for everyday use.

I am thinking of switching to Smashbox tinted moisturiser and halo bronzer/ mineral foundation.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Does anyone else change their make-up for the summer?

I have to say, I never change my make up for summer. Even on holiday I wear the same make up which is full coverage foundation, lots of eyeshadow, mascara etc. Too used to it at this stage! :)

i want to see some responses to this too.
usually on summer days i wear maybelline dream mousse which is super light and natural, but i'm thinking about picking up a tinted moisturizer. the only one i've ever used before was the cheap nivea one, but i gotta say i wasn't too impressed, so i'd like to hear which ones other people recommend.

also, i know some moisturizers and makeup have SPF [15 usually it seems] but i want to step my game up... anyone have any thoughts of using actual suncream on my face [like factor 30 +] before makeup or whatever? would suncream be likely to cause spots or anything?!

I'd recommend a tinted moisturiser, it'll be much lighter on your skin which is always nice for the summer, but still be a liquid product so it won't feel like a drastic change from your current routine. I don't really use them myself but I've heard great things about the Laura Mercier one.
What I use myself and would also highly recommend is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. It'll feel like you're wearing nothing but your skin will look amazing. It is less coverage than a liquid foundation but does still give some coverage. It's my HG product. :D

Yeah that is exactly what I am looking for a much lighter look.

Is the MAC mineralise a foundation or a tinted moisturiser?

It's a solid mineral powder foundation (so no faffing about with loose powder, I don't know about you but I know I'd spill loose powder everywhere!). It gives light coverage and a glowing natural sort of look. It can also double as a setting powder for your liquid foundation. :)

Smashbox Healthy FX foundation is really light it almost feels like a tinted moisturiser. I love using this in the summer, there's lots of shades though so choose carefully, get a sample first. Its got light coverage, but you could add a second layer if you wanted more. It also washes off really easily.

This is actually a lovely combo for summer; both products are excellent.

MAC face and body foundation might be one to consider also:)

Nars The Multiple in South Beach is a great product for summer, and all year round. You will find it online at HQ Hair.
