    Tried to re-boot the box constantly - but all colors are showing up on the box itself & an updating system software message is appearing on the TV screen constantly.

    Any ideas lads or is she gone?

    have you let the system update? (the screen will show for up to 10 min i think)

    I've left it for 24 hours & watched TV through my DM for the day.

    Its just come back on - I'd say I'll have issues like this again.

    Have you had it apart at any stage?

    Sounds like the Back-up button was pressed in when it was first switched on, it's not uncommon for this to happen if you've had it apart.

    Also, is it one of the first Thomson's? the one with Component out on the back?

    No, I just booted up and 24 hours past before it worked again.

    Never opened her - She's last year Samsung HD Sky Box.

    The four LED's on at the same time and the Updating software message is what happens when you plug it in with the 'Back up' pressed for about a minute, once the update starts it will have to finish even if you plug it out.
    It'll probably be fine now, time will tell...
