Website - Terms and Conditions of Use

I am establishing an online service business and am currently establishing the terms and coditions for use of the site and the supply of services.

Is it possible to use the Terms and Conditions of another website in a similar line of business or do copyright laws protect this information?

If so does anyone know if there are any good sites that provide standard T+Cs to use?

    Thanks

There are a couple of website around that provide generic T+C's which you edit to suit e.g. http://www.docstoc.com/docs/301241/Website-Standard-Terms-and-Conditions-Template/. I would be wary of copying from another website

Hi, I'm in the same boat as the OP.

Does anyone know how much it costs to have tailor made T&C's/Privacy Policy/Returns Policy done up by a solicitor?

    Thanks.

    Hi Suey

Not sure how much it costs but reckon if you go that route you would be better off having a first draft of it yourself and then going to solicitor to review and amend as appropriate.

From my research alot of similar T+Cs and particularly refund and privacy policies are used across a number of sites. Actually in relation to refund and privacy policies unless you have any specific issues for your site a standard set of policies can be obtained from other sites at no cost.
