Nah to old for that craic now i just stay home and post on Boards, but it is an irish thing i think, weekend=going out on the lash, to be honest there are worse things in the world to do, like stay in and post on Boards instead of actual human contact, im old...

I usually do a Sunday, Tues or Wednesday. Rarely a Fri or Sat because I work every weekend.

Up until about a year ago I would get severely distressed if I didn't get out at least one night at the weekend but in the last while I've become more relaxed, still love a good shindig but it would bother a lot less to sit in and watch a dvd or go to the pics etc..

I am just happy to relax. Last night had some friends round for dinner, some Wii, etc., good laugh.

Would have been ok if we had no one round as well.

Not going to work is good news/feeling enough and I'd rather save a few quid, go for a wknd away somewhere, than spend money around town over the wknd.

I'd rather go to the cinema/dinner/watch dvds

Packed boozers and agro in the city at weekends.

I'd rather stay at home and go up and down on the wife ;)

The only reason I'm not out is that I have to study, I'd well rather be out than be stuck in on boards ;)

not looking at ayone in particular :P

    Weird poll question.

No. I never feel like I have the whole population of a West African country out at the weekend. There aren't any Africans where I live.

I don't feel the need to be out every weekend. I'll go out if I'm in the form for it, simple as.

I go out when the mood takes me ,if some friends are in town or around for a few days then might hit the pubs and night spots

I was out in shopping the city centre yesterday afternoon then went for a meal followed by a few pints .I was home before 8.00 to chill out with a bottle of wine and watch some tv / post for a bit on boards .So relaxing

i think the older you get the more relaxed you get about going out. dosent bother me one bit if i head out or stay in..diffrent story when your in your late teens / 20's! youd go mad if you stayed in on a sat night lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,662 ✭✭✭RMD

Considering my only options to get drunk each week are either Friday or Saturday, I'd feel like I've wasted my weekend if I don't go out.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,783 ✭✭✭Hank_Jones

A few years ago I would have been out all weekend, but now I honestly prefer staying in.
I would rather just spend my time doing something else apart from getting completely fcuked up on a friday/saturday/sunday.

You certainly got a much more relaxed attitude regarding going out as you get older.
    Well some people do anyway.

    what's 'togo' ? Is it a game?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,555 ✭✭✭Gillington

Yeah I used to worry that I'd miss something if i didnt head out on the weekends so I'd head out every friday and saturday night, how the times change with the years!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,432 ✭✭✭df1985

I could never understand what the big deal was about that video^^

I don't work so most days I can't tell which are the weekend and which aren't, I was waiting on a bus earlier and somebody said to me I could be waiting a while coz it's Sunday, I genuinely had to question that for a while :pac: (even now I'm checking the calender to make sure)

I usually work. So, I dunno.

    Much prefer going out weekdays.

Can't remember the last time I was out!

Never thought I would ever say that!

i havent been out since easter weekend, i cant afford it as im saving and i work all weekend and cant go in hungover and then i have college work to do when i go home so it just doesn't work for me anymore.
il make up for it during the summer though!!! :)

Nah, most of the people on Boards are on this making polls about not going out to make them feel better while the rest of the country heads out :pac:

If it's played at normal speed it actually looks quite cool, that version makes her look freaky :p

I can go weeks without going out and drinking and it would not bother me one bit. I didn't drink for 28 years so a weekend or so ain't gonna kill me:pac:

doesnt bother me in the slightest

Since quitting the drink , my weekends are much more fulfilling.

Since I'm a student, and until recently, an underage student, Tuesdays and Thursdays are my 'out' nights....I like to watch TV and catch up with people through text/msn on a Friday or Saturday night.....and sleep is always good.

Prefer staying in.Why is going out at the weekend such an obsession for so many.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,219 ✭✭✭PK2008

Sometimes I just want to throw on my Kenny Rogers CD and take a bubble bath.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,370 ✭✭✭✭Son Of A Vidic

I just go with the flow, sometimes I'm happy in and sometimes I'm happy out. But if I'm planning to go out, I prefer a Friday night because I hate recovering on a Sunday and facing work the next day.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 5,028 Mod ✭✭✭✭G_R

I'm normally working either till close (12:30 / 1AM depending) or I'm in at a ridiculously early hour the morning after so whenever I get off early and I'm not in early in the morning I go out.

Take my chances when I get em

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 550 ✭✭✭GirlOfGlass

I feel like the weekend was wasted if I haven't done anything.
But I actually don't go every weekend. Mainly cause I don't have the money to. :(

Yeah I don't like not going out at the weekend - I don't know, I'm just so used to it. But one night a week is enough for me. And going to a house for drinks would be as good as going to the pub.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 810 ✭✭✭Fear Uladh

I am going to be doing some serious cutting back and leaving it to once or twice a month for major sessions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,713 ✭✭✭✭Novella

I've never really been a going out kinda person, dunno why. If all of my friends are going out, sure, I'll go but tbh, I'd rather stay in and just talk or watch movies or pretty much do anything other than pay for over-priced drinks, scream at each other over the music and hobble around in high heels! :pac:

I like going to friends houses for drinks too, always sure you'll have a good night with them (: The best convos / games / funs in general have been amongst my own friends. theres no bouncers, no rules, no dress code etc 0/

That said, the mood could hit me and I might drag one or more of the above out with me to dance till I'm numb all over, but it wouldnt be a routine thing. Wheres the fun in that?

    Random = fun.

My moralist alarm is going off the radar here. Perhaps even take the inverted commas off fun in order to nudge the gauge out of the red?
