A Dilemma - What would you do?

Hi - looking for some opinions here....

I recently imported a 2001 206 1.4 GLX (VRT is paid on it). I've had the car for some years, and it's always worked perfectly. It's always been serviced, and is in good condition with very low mileage.

I've now been told by my mechanic that in order to pass the NCT test here, all 4 shocks plus wishbones will need to be replaced, which leaves me looking at a bill of about E700.

    I'm wondering if I should:

    1. Pay the bill, put the car through the test and then sell it.

or 2: Pay the bill, put the car through the test and keep it.

I've been turning the ideas over in my mind, but simply don't know which way would be best!

Over to you guys! :D. TIA

    Option 3.
Put the car through the test, see what needs doing & then fix only those items. Your are guaranteed to save money this way.

Also I see no reason to sell the car even if it does need all these repairs. They are wear & tear items & once done, you would have a tight little car again.

Put the car through the test and see what it fails on....probably wont need all 4 anyway!...Let us no how you get on

EDIT:Sorry noticed someone already said this.

I'd agree with the above by putting it tru the test first...They test the
shocks for imbalance between each other so if you fit one new shock it will
    fail on the other 3.
