Hmmm, am at lvl 70, but should I prestige? I do love my silence Famas and Tar-21's will I have to get all my perks back as well? is it worth it for a symbol? anyone done it and regretted it?

I think I 'm a capable enough player now that I could get my levels back up petty quickly, do you literally start from scratch again?guns, perks the whole thing?

    Everything is gone!!!

    except your titles and emblems!!!

I think prestiging is a must!!!

The game would be quite boring and short if you just go up to level 70 and that is it.

I Think its fun to climb the levels again!!

Also you have the famas at the starting so you will still have that through the game!!

    Just remember!! EVERYTHING IS GONE!!!

Also you can get to level 25 in about 2-3 hours so it doesnt take that long

I agree with Thor. It gets boring after a while when your not leveling up. You'll have the Famas from the start so at least you'll have a gun your used to from the beginning

You definitely end up a better player from prestiging a few times, you learn more about perk combinations and adapt to other guns (if looking for titles and unlocks). Also, you get the prestige challenges to do

Do it, unless your 12, the emblems mean nothing, it's the lovely custom slots that makes it worth while :)

I should have prestiged a lot more :(

I hit 9th prestige yesterday evening (although I'm not going to 10th) and I'm already level 30 this afternoon. It's well worth it. It's not just the symbol though. As mentioned previously, there are a lot of prestige challenges and titles/emblems to unlock, as well as all of those delicious extra class slots! I have 10 slots now.

Well I did it, and proceeded to get my ass kicked the first game, Tallon was in one of them so he should know, it was on Favela, god I miss my silenced Tar-21 :( Its a good challenge though, go back to scratch and see how good you really are, takes you out of your comfort zone, no claymores, ninja pro or silencers yet so its freaking me out that I can hear my footsteps, I think its someone else :D The extra custom class slot is handy as I did find I was changing one of them around a lot previously, now I can just have 2, yay

Have to say I love the 'First Recon' preset for when you're back to Level 1, brilliant for annoying the opposition, particularly with the tac knife :D

Is it my imagination or is the M14A the initial default gun on the Grenadier class when you first begin the game? its now the Famas

It's always been the Famas. :p

I'll be level 70 in the next day or two so going to prestige straight away, I use the ACR with Heartbeat Sensor all the time, time for a change me thinks..

I prestiged once and thats enough, it unlocks the extra challenges prestiging any more is ONLY for an emblem? Wtf? Who cares about emblems? It doesnt give you an advantage or any more skill. Stupid choice doing it any more than once, if your bored then just try different weapons, thats what I did, went from tar to acr to m4 to ump and more to try .... doesnt mean I need to loose everything for the sake of a tiny pixilated icon for the experience!
Its an insult to have it as a "feature" , they assumed everyone playing is 5 and still has the "gotta catch em' all" mentality..... hell even in pokemon the ocd collector attitude may have made you more powerful here it just shows immaturity in a lobby.

Totally disagree, as mentioned above, it's not just an emblem you get!

Custom Slots on prestige 1,2,4,7 and 10, I mean its hardly worth jumping up and down about!

I think they could have made the advantages of prestiging a little better. Something like having killstreaks built into your classes - so you can go UMP/SPAS/marathon/lightweight/ninja/painkiller/5,7,11. Another would be the ability to carry more than one piece of special equipment after a certain prestige level.

Well you said you ONLY get an emblem....

It's better for a few reasons, it kees the game 'fresh' and you are forced to try out different perks, weapons, killstreaks etc than if you were to just stay comfortable at Level 70

This is actually a great idea, I always switch to Hardline on Rust and it would be nice to have it built into a class....

Incorrect. Slots are unlocked at 1st prestige, then 3rd, then 5th, then 7th, and finally 9th.

Second part in bold; that wouldn't be balanced at all.

Extra slots? Its not like there is a shortage of them to begin with and its hardly worth loosing hours of work for a measly slot and an emblem.
Its childish tbh, I mean dick measuring in real world is pathetic and in a video game its even more so. If you cant prove your good on the field then nothing else matters.

As you say to keep the game fresh? You can do that at any stage you want to with no need to loose all the items you worked hard for all you need to is change your loadout to reset your entire game! Prestiging is pointless rubbish for folks who ether are afraid they cant bring it on the field so TRY to look hard with a silly emblem or ocd collectors who lets face it are mostly children with the pokemon mentality i.e boosters.

(not saying boosters are prestigers but the reasons for both are just as pointless)

I think you should choose your words carefully when describing people who want to prestige in this game before you get yourself into trouble. You're obviously against it and you made your point, despite how childish it appears in this post.

    Leave it at that.

I see people at level 70 (no prestige/1st prestige) as players that are too comfortable with their perks, guns and attachments and who are too apprehensive to start with little or nothing at the risk of rising deaths.

The whole dick measuring thing is a stupid comment to make - people compare ranks all the time, just like their W/L or K/D. I know it's a game but many people are in it to win, do well and/or improve.
And as I mentioned above, I believe a lot of people staying at 70 is down to them worrying about dropping w/l or k/d - again, just a dick measuring exercise

I think you misunderstand the defining point of dick measuring behavior????

Its something meaning less in a real sense of the word as an attempt to show status and should be OBVIOUS to a casual on looker..... kd or wl ratios are not obvious forms of this and as such not classed as attempts at this. An emblem is obvious from casual appearance as DOES qualify as such.

This also null and voids your point about people stying at level 70 on any rank as I have illustrated both kd or wl ratios are not obvious indicators of skill to the casual appearance.

despite how childish it appears in this post.

Hypocrite. ..... lets leave it at that.

I prestiged just to see how good I was going back to scratch, if I could just switch back to my prefered classes I created whenever I wouldnt stick with it, I'd just go back to old faithfuls when the going got tough, the symbols mean jack to me

Hypocrisy where exactly? You accuse people who prestige in this game of not being able to 'bring it on the field' (whatever in the hell that means) and go on to diagnose people with OCD if they do it to collect the emblems or titles associated with prestiging, throwing in that people who do as such as 'children with pokemon mentality'.

I was just like "What the hell am I reading?" when I came across that post and I think everyone else on the board was too, so I asked you to cool it with your obviously childish posting, because quite frankly, that's what it is. And again I'd be so bold as to say I wouldn't the the only one here to agree with that assessment.

    Where's the hypocrisy again?

Twilightning I feel I should quote my own post to make it clearer for you, I cant see how you didnt get the post seeing as t is very clear already .... its only 2 lines after all????

The two comments and associated quoting of you are linked....

You said I should mind to not offend people as my comments may be construed as being offensive yet you yourself punctuate your comment with what can only be seen as an attempt to be offensive yourself hence .... hypocrisy.

I hope it makes the two line post a little less confusing for you son.

Your post: Ludicrous and childish statements.

My post: Pointing out how childish your post actually was and asking you to leave it at that if you had nothing more (Not that you had anything in the first place) constructive to say, with thanks following my post indicating other people felt the same way.

Also, don't try to be condescending toward me or anyone else 'son'.
