I heard about this air to water heat system and was thinking about adding it to my house. I already have solar panels and a condenser boiler and a solid fuel stove with back boiler.

There is an attractive grant for this system (€2000), was wondering would this system be of any benefit to my house. I don't have underfloor heating just normal rads. Any ideas or suggestions would be a great help.

All heat pumps operate best i.e. most fuel efficiently at lower temperatures (35-45 degrees ) so they are suited to UFH not rads . Solar with condensing is a smart combination so your economic scope for improvement on heat generation is small . So focus instead on reducing your demand for energy .

Not heating related but how much of your lighting is low energy for example ?

Thanks a million sinnerboy, yeah we invested in low energy bulbs. I am still keen to invest in technology that moves away from traditional methods (fossil fuels). The SEI are offering allot of grants at the moment and i taught air to water could be a viable option.

Wind energy is still relatively expensive, so i will keep on looking
