WA mini izu magazine problem

    Hi guys,

Had an interesting problem today. Was firing Western Arms mini uzi when suddenly the magazine vented through the firing port. I tried to eject the magazine but it was stuck. Some jiggling around and I finally got it out but then noticed that the plastic port on the top (into which you normally spray silicon oil for maintenance) had disappeared. Guess it fell on the ground when I managed to get the magazine out.

Two things - what was the likely cause of this and does anyone know where I could find a replacement? I have sent a couple of e-mails to companies to see if they have any. I was wondering if the equivalent part for the KWC mini uzi (which is more readily available I guess) might work? I know it's CO2 but I'm not sure that would influence this part and the WA is supposed to be an exact copy.

    Thanks to all who reply.

Is it the gas route bucking, the little rubber square piece on top of the mag through which the gas travels?

If so it sounds like the gas venting froze the rubber to the floting valve or underside of the bolt, it may be worth stripping the gun & see if its still stuck in there somewhere.

I have the KWC Uzi myself, and did a fair bit of research before deciding on it or the WA, from what i read they seem to be the exact same gun with bar the KWC being a CO2 mag & the WA green gas.
You can email KWC about spare parts & they will sort you out, Part R01 is it?

Ill measure the dimensions of my own one tomorrow and let you know, so you can check compatability.

That's the one Frank, much obliged for the link and I will try to get a spare.

Actually you might be able to help me with something else as well.
I cleaned the gun fully last night after it's first action, including dialing off the hop up (fully counterclockwise - having to push the lever in order to turn) in order to clean the barrel. Now, as I am trying to get it back to firing as straight as possible I am finding it difficult to hit the sweet spot - it doesn't tune as obviously as an AEG where you can get to the point that bb's start to head skyward and then just tune a little down from that. Instead I am getting much poorer precision than I had before I cleaned it with some bb's going straight, some down and the occasional one skyward! Have I damaged the hop-up in cleaning the barrel (did I turn the adjuster the wrong way) and if so is there a handy way to get at it?

    Thanks.

Actually gun is shooting pretty well with G&G 0.25s so maybe bb is the problem (was using Excel 0.2s). I'm having a hard time reaching KWC - I've written to them several times with no response. Is there another company I might try - a reseller?

    Thanks.

Sorry about he delay in getting back to you, heres a pic of the par with relevant dimensions, im 95% certain theyre interchangable.

I emailled KWC before about a part and they did email me back, but that was 2 years ago. You could try Dentrinity or possibly UNCo for the part but i dodnt remember seeing ti anywhere else bar KWC.

As for the hop, ive never fully disassembled mine due to the lack of spares & the fact it works fine as is so i dont kno if you knockecked something loose though iut sound like there may be a small bit of silicone on the hop rubber itself, if so itll straighten itself out after so rounds trhough it.

    Frank,

That looks to be identical all right although all I need is the plastic piece in the lower part of the picture.

I finally got a response from them a couple of weeks ago and just received delivery,....of the wrong part. Seems to be the appropriate part for a different magazine. Ho hum, now to go through the rigmarole of trying to get their attention again for the correct part.

Finally got delivery of the correct part, popped it in and all is fine - working perfectly. I have a couple of spares so Frank, if you ever find yourself in similar difficulties just let me know and I'll sort you out.

Price wasn't too bad - $1.7 each (got 4) with $9 shipping. Happy to have the spares - now just have to find some more magazines.
