Anyone remember playing this in Primary school,Have such fun memorys of it :D

It got band in my school once because the tarmac on the playground was full off holes and people kept falling((The class crybabey fell over 2-3 times and tbh at the time it was effin hilariouse)).But after they banned it we still played it and a teach came out askign what we were doing when one boy responded "Were playing Jimmity Cricket miss" :P,so we said that for a while till our new school next door was built..moved in there and was allowed play it officaly again.

Another time a guy was just aobut the reach the line and comicaly said "I'm gonna make it" then suddenly snagged with the dreaded "1-2-3-4 British bulldogs"

Anyone else have fun storys of it?

What came to my mind was a wrestling tag-team from the 1980's.

One is dead now and the other is wheelchair bound. The glamour of the WWF!

We didn't use the plural-it was British Bulldog.

Have no funny stories bout it, cos we played it properly, with no cry babies.

    "Squash" was always a classic.

6 people on a bench crushing the person against the wall, a 7th person charges in to squash everyone, 5 people jump up and the person against the wall gets destroyed!

A fella lost his front tooth that way, back before the days of sueing people at the drop of a hat!

Was it banned in Wales after some sheep complained?

I played it in England, and for some reason it was called British Bulldog, which was a bit odd because there weren't many British people involved.

We called it "polio", for some reason. Maybe a relic from the 1950s when children made fun of the kids with polio who couldn't play. Ah, them were the days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,466 ✭✭✭Forest Master

Yeah, I played this game. Loved it. But we used to call it Bulldoggy Doo Da.

I loved this game so much. Was always one of last to get caught. Have no idea what we used to call it though. Cant remember serious injuries either from it.

Used to also play to squashing game too. Great fun.

I also used to love the different ball games. Bounce of wall seven times...
