Therapeutic value of von Willebrand Factor

Hey all, I'm working on an essay titled "Von Willebrand Factor: Diagnostic and Therapeutic value". The diagnostic side of things is grand, but I can't find much for the therapeutic value. All I've found is replacement therapy and use of desmopressin for von Willebrand disease. Wondering if anybody could add to that?

I should note that when I talked to my lecturer about the essay he couldn't think of any therapeutic uses :o

    Cheers.

    Try this article :)

It's about use of VWF concentrate in haemophelia A, might be worth looking at. It's only a short case report but it's a start.

When doing research like this do the following if you don't know where to start.

    Go to PubMed
    Type search term
Filter results by > Review (to give you a backgrounder on the area)
Then filter further > Free Full Text (to get free articles)

To get the case report above I typed:
    Von Willebrand Factor therapy
Then filtered by Review (box on the top-right of the page)
    Then Free Full Text
