Well to start off I haven't frequented boards in quite some time.(don't think I've ever visited this section of it either) nothing quite like an electronic music forum to get me posting though ;) Anyway to cut to the chase,my favourite atm is designer drugs.bringing out **** that is SOOO hot every month or so for the past year and a half.

anyway here are my favourite tunes from them:

IAMX - Spit It Out (DESIGNER DRUGS Remix) Probably my favourite song from them

Heartsrevolution - Switchblade (Designer Drugs Remix)Another lil belter

To be honest my favourites at any time are whoever's had the best recent release. So, at the moment, that'd be Teki Latex. (Terrible quality on the youtube video)

My new favourite discovery are Clouds. They're unbelievable, going to be released on Fake Blood's upcoming label.

Clouds or Teki Latex? That Teki Latex EP is one of the biggest releases out in the last few weeks, all the huge house/electro-house DJs are playing it. Some of the Clouds stuff on the Soundcloud isn't the best, but they've some great tracks, and they're upcoming EP Mauful Sir/Liquid sounds great, there's previews on the myspace.

Fair enough if you're into deeper stuff, but even so you should appreciate Teki Latex.

Well they're from Scotland, so it'd make sense if they did. He hasn't started the label yet, but has a few acts lined up for releases (that Mauful Sir EP for one).

There hasn't been a good 'insult other people's taste' thread in a while, so I suppose it's about time.

I'm not joking that I like it, but the EP is quite light hearted, which I like. It's nice to have a different sound then the usual stuff, that's what's good about it. This track is definitely meant to be a bit funny, as is the other one I posted:

nah i actually used to dj alot of electrohouse stuff a good few years ago so i can appreciate it but both acts there are pretty bad.i mean dinosaurs with guns?

im just a little bit sick of the distorted bass sound with extreme pitch bending but some people seem to love it i guess.

Yeah that bass sound wouldn't be my favourite, but I think it's the silly quirkiness of it that I like, it's not supposed to be a really serious, important piece of music, which is a nice change.

To defend my honour, some of my favourite tunes from my last mix:

    Camel - Obrigado (Dead Fish)
    Yankee Zulu - Toma (Anabatic)
Round Table Knights - Calypso (Made To Play)
    NT89 & Saville - Plug (Southern Fried)
Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP - We No Speak Americano (Sweat It Out)
Burial & Four Tet - Moth (Text Records)

I'm really getting into dubstep, fidget and drum and bass recently, so I've been listening to a lot of Nero, Noizia and Jack Beats. Anybody else got any other artists like them, perhaps not so mainstream?

All-time favourites would probably be one of the two groups that got me into dance music in the first place; The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers. Don't hate on me for being so mainstream!

If you like Noisia, then you should check out D:Bridge's "Gemini Principle" LP

Dubstep-wise Martyn is well worth checking out, his "Great Lengths" album is a good place to start, as is his Fabric Mix.

Fabric-mix-wise you should check out the Commix mix for a pretty decent taste of contemporary DnB as well as the D:Bridge / Instra:Mental Fabric Live mix to hear them blurring the lines between DnB, Dubstep and Electronica.

My personal favourites dubstep-wise would have be pretty much anyone who ever released on Mala's "Deep Medi" label, check out the Deep Medi CD compilations volumes 1 and 2 for a potted history of the label. Silkie's "City Limits" lp is also a good shout.

Alix Perez - "1984" is a really good recent album, a bit more restrained than the typical Noisia gear (although their new "Invisible" is looking like it might well turn out to be pretty decent). Personally I've been battering "I'm Free" at every gig I've done in the past nine months and I'm still not sick of it...

Personally I'm all over the shop all the time and never really settle into "favourites" as such.

On a post-dubstep tip I'm really feeling the stuff that Synkro, Sully, Brackles, Shortstuff, James Blake, Ramadanman, Pangaea, TRG and Untold are coming out with - pretty much anything Oneman and Ben UFO are playing is pretty much solid gold right about now.

DnB wise I'm a bit schizophrenic of late - radio sets tend to be deep smooth affairs, loads of Bop, Instra:Mental, Seba, Survival, Calibre, Big Bud, D:Bridge, Code 3, Spectrasoul, whereas in the club I tend to reach for anything decent with a bit of a kick to it, organic sounds and plenty of movement.

Electro-wise I think Tiga is the be all end all, also love Miss Kittin and Green Velvet- I feel positively old skool these days.

If I like it, I couldn't give half a squirt if it's mainstream or whatever.

I don't have a favourite really but at this moment.. I'll for Wolfgang Gartner & Pryda.

Nice one! I usually advertise it on the forum on Irishdrumandbass.com - if you ever hear anything you need an ID for just bump the spam thread!

^ Alix Perez - "I'm Free" - you'd want to be playing it through a proper set of speakers to get anything approaching the sense of the bassline in it, but it's proper venomous all the same!
