    Quick question for you...

    what songs would you expect (or like to) to learn while taking beginner/interdiate rock guitar lessons.

    But in all honesty when teaching at that level it could be good to be able to teach someone to play rhythm for any song they want ,and to learn the lead at a later date...

    I guess that really depends on the person, some classic stuff would be the likes of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Metalica, Green Day and Guns n Roses. All are well known material and they all have songs that someone could try and tackle, though the solo's could take some time. If they prefer some cleaner stuff than you could go for the likes of Hendrix, Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Nirvana etc.
    Really the kind of stuff that everyone tried to learn when they are starting to get better at the guitar and are trying to move on from the 3 chord trick stuff and really simple riffs.

    "LIVEWIRE" By AC/DC is perfect. it was my first song...its a perfect song for learning timimng/rythum. its very straight forward. only 3-4 power chords (2 finger chords) all the way throughout the whole song.

    E-B then back to A-E-B!!! eventually it goes to G-C-F. thats it!
