Any chance of a refund or free redo on bad job?

I was wondering if there are any rules or laws regarding bad dental job.
I had my filling done on Wednesday and now it fell off. I wanted to have a refund or a free redo.
I contacted the clinic, but they told me to write a complaint and wait for their decision.

Anyone has any advise or know how to deal with this? Any similar experience?

Just get an appointment for it to be replaced, if it was done on wednesday it will be done for free I am sure, don't get aggravated these things happen from time to time. Dental work is in a unpredictable biological system.

well, that's the thing. i just wanted to have an apointment, but i was told that the manager has to make a decision about it and he won't do it without formal written complaint.
as it's a dental clinic the decision is not up to a dentist.

so i'm not so sure about the outcome and that's why i'm asking around.

you gotta be kidding here, they seriously let a manager have say over a dentist? a practice manager should not get involved with a patient's treatment. ever.

how long does it take to come up with a decision? seriously the chain of command there is backwards. this sounds like gareth from the office with all his team leader shenanigans.

seriously though, the only way you'd be expected to pay for it in 99.9% of places in the country is if you bit into some rocks just to test it.

Cant beat having a local family dentist, with whom you can build a rapport.Fillings can fall out due to a number of causes-sometimes not the dentists fault too!All the same anyone i know would take a hit for the team and replace it for free. Think someone has let the "manager" in the job description get to her head.

    Best of luck.

Or if you refused the recommended treatment to go for a cheaper option that had no guarantees and you were warned that whatever work was done was not going to last....

Fillings can and do break even with the best of dentists. It depends on what you were told. As the Big G says, if you were advised it was very large and ideally would need a cap or crown then a refund wouldnt be appropriate.

However any dentist I know would replace it if it could be refilled and it broke due to unforseen circumstances. I may be wrong but am I correct in thinking that you went to one of the corporate dental providers? Please do not mention any names. Any family dental practice would not have such complaints procedures and would be keen to get you back in and sort out the problem.

A dentist should be making those decisions not a manager
