    just wondering what type of lens would be suatable for low light use concerts etc i have a budget around 200 any sugestions?
    would the sigma 70 300mm f4 5.6 be any good.?

    It wouldn't be great. Get a 50mm 1.8 if you dont already have one.

    Something with a large aperture (small f/). Bigger hole = more light.

    No. I have one and it is a good telephoto lens for outdoors in good light.
    It would be hopeless in low light conditions.

    What mount is it for? The Canon 'Nifty Fifty'
    50mm f/1.8 II is an excellent lens if you can live with the fixed focal
    length. Price is under €100 from on-line sellers, a bit more in local
    shops. I'm sure you can get something similar for Nikon and other
    mounts.
