New car issue

Tuesday last week i paid a deposited down on a car with a local dealer! The car needed some work done. Paint work on back back bumper, which was done! The cover for the battery and fuses was broken off and he said he would order in a new one, the "new" cover was put together in the workshop and doesn't look the best i can live with that!

The one thing that's annoying me the most is and may not seem like much to others was that he swapped out a very nice radio for cheaper one, I wasn't at home when the car was delivered and pretty pissed off about this! Where do i stand? Can i make him put back in the radio that was in the car when i paid the deposit??

    Thanks in Advance!

It depends on what was agreed.

p.s. Never have a car delivered.

Yeah, you agreed a deal on the car as it was. Complain, and don't let him talk you down. Its stealing in my book.

That wasn't the spec you agreed on I presume. Get them to change it back. If they're in any way decent they will swap it for you

Was the radio actually working when you test drove the car? Could the radio have been broken and the dealership replaced it?

I would find that unacceptable OP and if nothing was specifically mentioned about the radio when making the deal then you are entitled to redress

Well it was a mistake to pay the remaining balance on the car and have it delivered. Two mistakes in fact. Cheap lesson.

in fairness, the radio could have been broken since your test drive.

How do you know the current radio is cheaper than the original model? Are there any different/less features on the new radio compared to the old one?

If they both do the exact same job then I'd say you wont get too far.

He had no right to go near your radio. Call him and give out sh1t!

I got the radio back, he was trying to pull a fast one and convince me that it was broken! There was some difference between the radios, orginal had a usb slot and an in jack. Which made it handy for connecting the iPod. Guess i learned my lesson anyway!!
