I started with winchesters subs they were great, then couldnt get them so tried remington they were crap the bullet very loose in the case if you shook the round it would wobble or rattle, then used lapuas great like the winchesters but couldnt get them again.i tried get lapuas today all he had were eleys e8 a box.

I tried cci that come in the box of 100 but the bolt on the rifle was extremely hard to close while using them, never had that prob before or since with the other ammos i tried.I use a cz452 lux

I've had problems extracting live rounds with CCI in my CZ, they seem to be a very tight fit in the chamber and the extractor slips over them.

yeah its like there a fraction to big to fit in the chamber

Had same thing with CCI in my current CZ, a previous CZ, a Sako Finnfire and an Annie 1710  The rim seems to be a slight bit wider ?

the .22 is a fab gun to have , i love shooting mine .i shoot a lot of free hand targets in the garden.great crack .the rabbits are getting hardy and the corn is starting to show head .

lets hope we get a summer .

we should have a on line target shoot 25, 50 ,75 ,100 yds . 5 shots at each range .pick a week .
honesty among rogues of course .

i love mine to for same reason, love the iron sights on it.I put a scope on a few weeks ago think ill take it off again, only bad thing the with iron sights at 50-100 yards its very hard to see where your hitting the target i find.

A while back when I went to buy subs the dealer told me if I had a CZ to avoid CCIs as the case is a fraction too big for the barrel & gives trouble extracting. He was a major CZ fan & seemingly he does know his stuff.

That's the kind of service I think we'd all appreciate.

why do u say that jw?any ideas why it seems hard close the bolt using the ccis?
have been wondering why there the only brand that i have this problem with.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,096 ✭✭✭bunny shooter

I think the problem is more with the rim than the length. Seems to be a problem with a lot of CCI rimfire ammo in a lot of rifles

id never heard anyone else say they had same problem,at least i know my rifle ok

extracting is not the problem ,its closing the bolt is a bit tight .,iv the same problem with hornady in my 270 .

i find that the bolt is harder to close with CCi stingers and subs,

on a side note i like eley subs the best the winchesther are good too but my cz shoots beter with eley

I know we had the CCI stuff in DURC a few years ago and any of the newer rifles wouldn't even close on it.

    RWS €5.50
John greene has them at that price too,
my pistol won't cycle them though, I think it's the coating on the round.

    hey bunny!
Winchester subs (bucket nose) available in Drangan gun shop Co Tipp.

I have noticed that the wide hollow points suffer from exceptional drift! but they are great expanders;)..

Eley seem to hold the top spot IMO in terms of reliability of primer and consistence & hence accuracy.

I have heard that placing a small drop of Vaseline in the HP will give better rapid expansion-- haven't tried it yet-- better start saving up the milk cartons..
