Man waving flag at flight usually means go round the hurdle dont jump it for safety reasons !!

OK, the obvious question is why it got thrown out for not jumping a fence where a steward was waving a flag????

a checkered flag just means warning afaik. There was screens up just past the 2nd last. There was a guy with a flag there. Gasparas jockey made a meal of it. He should have jumped it with any sense. No arrows up at the flight and the flag waving was happening 50 yrds behind the flight away to the left. Jockey fucked up badly. Id be very upset if i had anything on it

Was one of the best backed horses today! Think it was at least 7's (maybe more) this morning and went off 5/2. Like i said i didnt see the race just what i read on betfair forum!

FFS, had 20 on it to win, never backed anything that was voided before, at least I got refunded. A warning flag at a fence sounds stupid though whats the jockey meant to do, slow down or sidle up to it and check where's its safe to land. Just skipping the fence if there's any risk would seem more appropriate.

I watched the race as I was told to get on Gaspara. Luckily I didn't back it. The flag was a warning flag as there was an injured horse just after the second flight although he was away to the side. Jockey should have jumped the hurdle - no barriers or arrows up. Then again I can see why he was confused but he should know what the flags are for. Looked a cosy winner too.

First past the post rule won't come into effect either as he technically took the wrong course. Maybe Paddy will feel generous but I doubt it. Unlucky for those who lost their cash. Would be pretty gutted myself

Some bookies might refund at least? Or might this count as first past the post?
    Hope it works out mate.

As far as I know you're lucky you even got the stake back.

To be fair, if they really wanted them to go around they'd have some one in front of the hurdle. Jockeys error

Anyone have a tip with which to try and make it back?

Just put it down as a bad day at the office and don't chase your losses

Paddys did refund on this race so probably could say I was lucky. Generous enough considering the flood of cash they would have taken.

At least Betfair punters had the option of laying Gaspara while the stewards were making their (easy) decision. Only 6/4 apparently

You could do worse than backing a W. Mullins horse this week. Especially one he has suggested as a better chance than Arvika Legionnaire.

Price would make you woozy though. 5/4 last I saw

I agree fully with this though
