    Maybe its been done, not that ive seen in the last year. Interested to see what your favorite kind of jumps race is.

    Im all for 2m hurdles, they make for the best finishes and are often far more competetive. Maybe I've been fortunate to follow racing at a time when the 2m hurdle grade has been ultra competetive.

    Has to be the 2 mile hurdlers. Might have said 2 mile chasers when Moscow and Azertyuiop were at it a while back though.

    I love handicap chases up to 3m or so (the likes of the Paddy Power, Hennessy etc. The Jewson has been a serious punting race for me in the short time it's been at the festival). Good spectacles and always satisfying to solve. Chases in general top hurdle races for me.

    It's gotta be a 2 mile chase -think of Moscow Flyer, Azertioup, Well Chief etc pinging those big fences at speed. Breathtaking !

    Depends what you want in a race really.

    2m - premium on speed (both cruising and finishing) and accuracy

    3m - stamina, speed (high cruising, so as to exploit suspect stamina of other horses - see Gold Cup 08), ability to lenghten and shorten at jumps so as to be well positioned, but economise energy

    4m + - handicapping. fun to watch, nightmare to bet on, but in the end...handicappers, not the cream of the crop

    Each of the big divisions in jump racing has passed through a golden era (Moscow-Azertyuiop-Well Chief, Harchibald-Hardy Eustace-Brave Inca, Denman-Kauto-Exotic Dancer, Hedgehunter, Comply Or Die etc). In their respective golden eras, watching a race with those horses in was a pleasure!
