Issue with a Samsung TV.

Hi, I have recently bought a Samsung 40 inch tv from PC world for 600 euro. As soon as i brought it home there was an issue with crackling on the speaker. I have been in contact with PC Workd and between the jigs and the reels they are only going to give me my money back or replace the TV for a model in the same price range. I got a good deal on this TV and for that 600 euro I will not get the same spec TV or close to it. The TV was only purchased last month. I am wondering whether I should try logging a ticket through Samsung and see if they can do anything for me as its still in warranty, I dont want to pay shipping costs etc etc, or be without a TV for two months, or should i just take the money and run. Please advise. Also would like to say that PC world are incredbiley difficult to deal with and will not be using them again.

I have two samsung LCD tvs and the sound from both is woeful. The built in speakers are pathetically under powered and when you raise the volume, the sound gets distorted. However as I have both connected to 5.1 sound systems now, ie pc and home theatre settings, I don't have to put up with the sammys crap speakers. Have you considered getting a urround sound system so you could keep the tv but avoid using it's speakers?

Although as you obviously have a faulty tv, you might want to just getvrid of it. As for the "great deal" you got, was it on this tv alone or on all the sammys? I'm just wondering if the not so great pc world new it was a faulty tv and off loaded it to you at a discounted price.

To be fair, TV speakers are very shallow passive devices which are very low power. They are only on the TV to differentiate them from monitors.

I'd agree with Dave, if you can get Samsung to sort it out, great. If not just get a decent set of powered speakers.
