    Hi all,

So I traded in my old car to a dealer and he says he has sent in all the paperwork to change the owership into his name. That was over a month ago. Car is still in my name. I rang shannon and they say they are processing everything and would be just a day behind.

Does anyone know is there a backlog? I don't know what to believe!!!

I just received a notice in the post saying I have to renew the tax on a car I traded in a month ago.

I'm slightly curious about this too. My old car should be in the garages name now right?

Sounds like it's in your name still too.

Garages don't change over ownership to themselves as they would increase the number of previous owners. It might be that they haven't sold your car yet and that is why it is in your name!

garages (and customer jointly) complete a green RF105 form which puts the car into the garages name without adding an owner.

Some have an online system for this, but there's no way that wouldn't have worked.

If you didn't sign this form, chances are the garage didn't send it off.

Garage is talking crap. go into them and complete another RF105 form backdated.

when a garage takes ownership of a car, it doesn't add an owner, the # of owners is only for private owners

Well you can check here if there has been any change of ownership in last 3 months, maybe its just being processed now https://www.motortax.ie/PSE/start.do;jsessionid=0aa0114730d8fee5aed23f174a669ec9d633b1004970.e38PaNaSbh0RaO0LaNmRbxyTch8Le0?page=welcome

When I sold my car to the garage it was in his name the week after, according to the website
