You log on using your student number and student password.

Firstly, are you a student of NUIG?

    If yes:

Do as above for the unsecured Wifi.

If you want access to the secured (passworded) wifi, you have to get onto computer services. They need to put your mac address onto the system, and also give you the password, a long a tedious process (for some reason).

    If no:
    Enroll! Its grrrrrreat!

I always thought that that was just for staff. Might get myself registered (next year) in that case.

Is there a limit on the number of devices you can register for it?

Also, I run Linux, will that evoke the same "wtf?:confused:" response that I usually get off them?

Im not sure if they still encourage doing it. It does save you having to put in your student Id and password every time in your browser.
It should be OK with linux, so long as you can give them your MAC address, and they can put in a password like you would on any secure network. I cant see any problems.

Not sure about a limit of devices. If your thinking about putting a phone on it, that mightnt be as straight forward. A few in our class had to put phones and Microcontrollers on the wireless, twas a bit of hassle for CS.
