Ive read a lot in this forum about boosters and tbh I couldnt see why everybody was taking it so seriously as its just a game. I had never saw boosters personally until last night.
I was playing a game of FFA (I usually play TDM/MTDM) on estate and when I checked the scores after only a couple of mins everybody had only 4 kills max but one guy had 17 kills and some other guy had 17 deaths. Hmmm.....suspicious I thought. So I wandered down to the building down the hill ( the one where the top floor is missing a big chunk out of the wall) and sure enough I caught site of a tactical insertion and one guy knifing another one over and over. So naturally I blew them to bits when the guy hit 24-0. :D
He went ballistic and I spent the next few games following them around ruining their plans. Had the time of my life booster hunting!!
Anyway just thought I'd share that! BTW there should be a booster hunting thread.

My PSN id is DEAN320ci if anybody wants to add me btw. Cheers ;)

Yeah I'm not even sure if this is sad or not, but I enjoy hunting boosters more that playing the game normally sometimes. It really irks me to ignore them when I know they are boosting. They must die, so I load my grenade launcher and take it from there....

Booster hunting is awesome, I never thought of waiting until they get to 24 kill lol thats genius, gonna try that from now on, i'd say the abuse they give is unreal :D

Theres your answer. FFA is boosters game mode of choice. Rarely see them in other modes as they are easier to spot.

If you are hosting a game and there are boosters in it , turn off your xbox , the game will end and it wont go to host migration.

Like the OP I was thinking the same until about a month ago.. nearly every 3 games you'll find boosters now but i love finding them

Boost Hunting is absolutely brilliant.. It's a great side game imo since i've been trying to get a nuke myself (1 kill off in Wasteland :( ) So it's nice to get a break.

AN easy way to spot boosters is go into spectator mode and look for someone boostin. Easy as pie.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

Agree, spectate at the beginning, if you see two people with tactical insertions, they're 99% of the time boosters, just watch where they go and if you can get there fast enough wreck their little cheating party, I was doing it earlier on Estate, Afghan and Rundown, the same 2 guys over and over, both had spinny nuke symbols, like they could even get close to getting an actual nuke, they were completely awful players as well, every time I ran into them they panicked and didnt know what to do :D

i was boosting one for a nuke for one time only and then a nuke went off when i was 24-0

there were other guys boosting at the same time :)

Had great fun last night myself hunting - (>god) was the clan tag should anyone see them about - Very Funny in highrise - the 2 guys went over the crane into the office building on the ledge above the window so i got me sniper and went up to the (forbidden) roof - Got a 7 streak before they started firing back then it was great fun as they were using assault rifles and were easily dodged - I'd say they were having fun too cos it was me with a sniper against 2 of them with all of us inserting! i'd say the game below was very boring. But the thing is they wouldnt leave the lobby! so I got at least 8 games hunting out of the 2 of them - eventually they used riot shields and waited for me - but on the last game they were about 21-0 and with one swift flash bang.... Very funny seeing 2 shielders running in circles shooting manicly.

Is sit rep a good perk for booster hunting. Dont have it pro but it only illuminates claymore at min on screen. I see nothing on the mini map

It's ok - I use it alot with my sniper and find its very amusing to camp - shoot a claymore and watch the person freak out coz they think someone is near but cant see them!

I wouldn't risk waiting til 24, especially in case they have hardline on!

I usually do me a bit of spectating at first to see what they're packing, boosters tend to go with coldblooded in my experience.

Anyone got any booster spots worth sharing? heres the main ones from what I've experienced:

Afghan, on the hill with the anti air guns, the one that overlooks the plane wreckage, go to the very edge of the cliff and theres a little ledge that you can drop onto, thats most boosters spot of choice on this map. Also down by where the humvees are parked, its usually a first spawn spot, theres a little part that nobody ever goes to once the game begins, there as well.

Estate: either down by the power station or the small wooden shed with the log pile of the left of the house around the back.

Derail: a friggin nightmare for boosters, could be anywhere as its huge, try the town and small cabins first.

Rundown: the grassy parts at the back of the map, near the petrol station or the radar tower thingy, prime spots.

Favela: the small alley with the brick piles (near where the stairs to the half built building is) or the main storm drainage prt at the top of the hill, always find some little feckers in there.

Terminal: the huge window thats at the rear of the terminal near where all the luggage carts are, theres a way to climb in behind them, booster central.

    Kerachi:

    In the bus
behind or in the shop beside the bus
The very back of the map where no-one ever goes
I recently discovered a little spot that is very secretive here, only ever seen one or 2 people in there but found boosters there once, Her we go -

If your at the bus with the shop on your right and the building going from your left around to in front of you with the balcony - go through the ally with the ladder that leads to the roof section overlooking the machine gun - 2 ladders so im going to start from the one on the step with the bushes - kindof hard to see but ye know where it is! Go up that ladder, turn around so the bus is on your left - jump onto the canopy over the door - then jump to the petruding bit of wall in front of you, walk forward straffing right and you'll find yourself in a little room. If your feeling very adventurous, jump onto the balconies on the right - but they are hard to get into! The room is good for a few kills max but get out quick cos there is no protection from explosions in there!

Ran into a crowd of boosters (3 Italians) about an hour ago, fecken clowns, I just joined a game of FFA in Skidrow, spawned in the building, above the C flag in Domination (the 1 with the MG on the window) ran out the door to the right (if you've your back to the backwall) and there they were happy out boosting in the open with their tac insertions, 3 of the handiest kills i ever got..:D

Don't know what the rest of the players were doing, the fella been "boosted" was 16-0 when i shot him.. so io folllowed them for the rest of the game.. think they gave up after the "boostee" get killed..cos i couldn't find them anymore.. played the next game, just to see would they do it again..sure enough same fella getting a load of knife kills..but by this time i think most people had twigged it, as i saw alot of RPG and AT4 fire directed at them ..they weren't long quitting after that....:D:D:D

    Haha fairplay to ya!

The other night when i was using a riot shield in Highrise i spotted people jumping off the ledge and landing on the platform below. I checked the scores and saw they were boosting so i make my way over and try to jump down but i die about 4 times on my way there (really frustrating when they are about to get the nuke!) and finally i landed on the ledge.

When they saw me they didn't know what to do so they started shooting at the shield but i kept going. I mellee'd one of them to death then the last person, i think he might of been the one going for the nuke, i trapped him in the corner for around 20 seconds. It was hillarious watching him frantically trying to jump past me and mellee my shield so i finally finished him off before his buddy came back. My favourite booster kill so far :D

Yeah it's a great help. Just run to the usual booster spots and Sit Rep will help you spot them especially if they are hidden in bushes (Rundown) or in the building in Invasion it's very handy there since its a very confusing building to find them.

Find them alot especially in Skidrow. Always in the containers at the back or in the building overlooking the tunnel. In Scrapyard I actually found 2 in that bit where the broken planes make an L shape. Under that. Sent a noob tube in and got 34 (i kid you not) very abusive messages. Underpass is almost impossible to find them in But I usually find them in that house that nobody goes into just left of the A domination part and beside the bridge thing. Either there or in the container. Wasteland is a bastard for it too. I usually put an Intervention into one of them by the end though.
    I have a Booster Hunting Class. :)
    Fal-Noob Tubes
    AA-12 Red Dot
    Frags
    Smoke g's
    Marathon
    Danger Close
    Sit Rep.
I find it easy enough to get Boosters with this set up. I usually switch the Frags for C4 if It's a level where there aren't many locations to chose from. They come back and bam.
