Research into effects of the death of a parent on a child?

Hello,

I writing up a research proposal for a research peice on the effects the loss of a parent can have on a child. Does anyone know of any similar research done on this area or similar area?

So far all I've managed to find is 'Surviving the Early Loss of a Mother' by Dr Anne Tracey so my literature review is a bit short!

Any help really appreciated!

There's heaps of literature on this, how are you conducting your search? Look up the Harvard Child Bereavement Study (Worden) and basically any combination of "bereavement" + "children" + "studies" and you'll get reams of papers.

The bibliography of this paper would be a good starting point.
